The City of Greensboro is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and forward-thinking SQL Database Administrator to join the Information Technology Department. This position plays a critical role in administering and optimizing the City's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database environments that support essential public infrastructure and daily operations.

About the Role
The SQL Database Administrator serves as a technical leader responsible for administering, optimizing, securing, and supporting the City's Enterprise Asset Management (Octave Attune EAM) and GIS database environments. This position works closely with business users, developers, GIS professionals, and departmental stakeholders to ensure enterprise systems remain secure, reliable, scalable, and high-performing. This job is Exempt and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards
Key Responsibilities-
Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases supporting Enterprise Asset Management (Octave Attune EAM) and GIS applications.

Monitor database performance, implement performance tuning strategies, and optimize system availability.

Manage database security, backup and recovery processes, disaster recovery planning, and data integrity.

Develop, support, and maintain enterprise system integrations, ETL processes, and automated workflows.

Configure enterprise applications and support software upgrades, testing, and implementation activities.

Design and develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that support operational and strategic decision-making.

Provide advanced technical support and guidance to EAM administrators, GIS analysts, developers, and business users.

Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that improve automation, operational efficiency, and enterprise data management.

Utilize AI-enabled tools and modern database administration practices to enhance reporting, automate routine tasks, identify trends, and support data-driven decisions while maintaining governance and security standards.

Lead technical projects while effectively communicating with stakeholders across the organization.
