American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care and trauma ED experience for a night shift travel assignment at a Level 2 Trauma Center in St. Louis, MO.

Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12s
-
13-week assignment in St. Louis, MO
-
Respiratory therapy department serving all areas of the hospital, including SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, and Trauma
-
Adult patient population; pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and transported to a sister facility
-
Patient ratios based on a point system dependent on staffing
-
Equipment includes Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilator, V60 BiPAP, Bellavista (incoming), Vapotherm, and Airvo for high-flow therapy
-
EMR: Epic
-
Weekend and call requirements as determined by facility needs
-
Floating required as determined by facility needs

Licensed for 767 beds
-
Current RRT credential with an active Missouri Board for Respiratory Care license (license required if applicable)

Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience

Adult critical care experience required

High-volume, busy ED with trauma experience required

BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment unless renewal documentation is provided

PALS preferred
-
No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
-
Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
-
Preferred skills include blood gas draws, blood gas processing on GEM, and blood gas interpretation
-
The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center (the only one in South County), a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and a Level 1 STEMI Center
-
Black scrubs required per facility dress code standards

Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
-
Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is permitted but must be made up during the assignment

Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate; local candidates are also limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a separation period or facility change is required
