Responsibilities

- Translate complex medical terminology accurately, maintaining the integrity of clinical information for documentation review and medical records management.
- Uphold HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient confidentiality and adhering to all clinical confidentiality policies during interpretation and documentation processes.
- Assist in translating medical documents, reports, and records with precision, supporting medical translation services that meet clinical cultural competency standards.
- Support child protective services and hospital teams by facilitating sensitive communication with families while respecting cultural nuances.
- Maintain detailed records of interpreted sessions, ensuring proper documentation review and adherence to clinical ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance cross-cultural communication skills and ensure culturally competent care delivery.
Skills
- Multilingual proficiency with fluency in Mandarin and strong command of English; additional language skills such as American Sign Language are a plus.
- Extensive experience in interpretation within healthcare or social work settings, with a focus on medical terminology translation.
- Deep understanding of HIPAA regulations, clinical ethical guidelines, and confidentiality policies relevant to medical translation services.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly across cultural boundaries.
