About the role: The QC Sampler is responsible for collecting raw material, in-process, and finished product samples for laboratory testing. This role ensures samples are collected accurately, labeled correctly, and documented according to SOPs, GMP, and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collect samples of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products following SOPs.

Label and document all samples accurately for traceability.

Deliver samples to the QC laboratory in a timely manner.

Ensure sampling tools and containers are clean and properly maintained.

Follow GMP, SOP, and safety rules when handling materials.

Maintain accurate logs and records of all sampling activities.

Communicate with QC, Warehouse, and Production teams regarding sampling needs.
-
Report any deviations, damaged materials, or unusual observations.

Keep sampling areas clean, safe, and organized.

Select appropriate sampling containers, tools, and techniques based on material type and testing requirements.

Verify material identity, lot numbers, and quantities against receiving or batch documentation prior to sampling.

Follow aseptic and contamination-prevention techniques when collecting samples for microbiological or sensitive testing.

Retain and store control and retain samples according to SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Assist QC and Warehouse teams with inventory and cycle count activities as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED required.
-
1+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or warehouse preferred.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.

Good organizational and documentation skills.

Comfortable working in production and warehouse environments.
-
Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout production and warehouse areas for the entire scheduled shift (typically 8-12 hours) while collecting samples at multiple locations, with only standard meal and rest breaks; this is an essential function of the role.

Ability to frequently lift and carry sample containers, tools, and materials weighing up to 60 lbs, and to move loads up to 500 lbs using material handling equipment.

Ability to climb ladders or step stools and reach into totes, drums, or elevated storage to collect representative samples.

Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and reach (including overhead reaching) to access raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products at varying heights.

Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to use sampling tools (e.g., thief probes, scoops, swabs) and to accurately label and package samples.

Near vision sufficient to read labels, lot numbers, sampling logs, and documentation accurately.

Hearing sufficient to detect equipment alarms and communicate with QC, Warehouse, and Production staff in an active facility.

Ability to tolerate exposure to raw material dust, odors, and varying temperatures throughout production and warehouse areas.

Ability to wear required PPE for the full shift, including safety glasses, gloves, hairnet or beard cover, and slip-resistant closed-toe or steel-toed footwear, plus additional PPE (e.g., respirator) as required for specific materials.

Compliance with all GMP, SOP, and plant safety/OSHA requirements.
