POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for moving, maintaining, repairing, and servicing equipment, parts, machinery, and heavy equipment across a 63-acre shipyard facility while supporting safe and efficient operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, tools, parts, and components weighing up to 75 lbs.; exert push/pull forces up to 150 lbs. when positioning equipment.
- Perform work while standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, reaching overhead, climbing stairs/ladders, and working in confined or elevated positions.
- Use hand and power tools requiring gripping, pinching, fine motor skills, and repetitive movements to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and wear required PPE, including occasional use of a safety harness while performing elevated work.

- Heavy lifting may be required at times
- Work from mechanical plans, blueprints, schematics, sketches, and read hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of experience preferred
- Prior shipyard experience a plus
- Heavy Equipment Mechanic experience preferred
