About the Opportunity
My Learning Labs is looking for tutors to join our team and provide academic support to students attending our learning sessions.
This is an in-person, part-time position suited to someone who enjoys teaching, working with young people, and creating a productive classroom experience. Tutors will work with small groups and will receive the resources and guidance needed to deliver each session effectively.
The Role
You will be responsible for supporting students throughout their scheduled learning sessions. This may include explaining academic concepts, assisting with activities, answering questions and encouraging students to participate confidently.
Your day-to-day work may include:
- Teaching and supporting students in small groups
- Explaining topics in a clear and age-appropriate way
- Helping learners complete assigned activities and exercises
- Encouraging students who need additional support
- Maintaining an organised and respectful classroom
- Recording attendance and completing any required session information
- Following the learning materials and instructions provided by My Learning Labs
What We're Looking For
We'd like to hear from people who:
- Enjoy working with children and young learners
- Have good knowledge of the subjects they are comfortable teaching
- Can communicate ideas clearly and patiently
- Are dependable and punctual
- Can manage a small group in a classroom setting
- Are comfortable following prepared teaching materials
Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring or youth-work experience is welcome, although relevant experience is not essential for the right candidate.
University students and graduates with suitable subject knowledge are also encouraged to apply.
Working Arrangements
Location: Gahanna, Ohio
Position: Part-time Tutor
Setting: In person
Availability: Teaching sessions may include weekday and weekend hours
Pay
$15–$30 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications and subject knowledge.
