We are seeking a passionate and motivated Community Engagement Specialist to help strengthen relationships with community partners, participants, families, and stakeholders.
Position Summary
The Community Engagement Specialist plays a key role in building and maintaining meaningful connections between the Adult Day Health Care Center and the surrounding community. This position is responsible for outreach, partnership development, event coordination, and community engagement efforts that increase awareness of services and support participant involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement outreach and engagement strategies to connect with community members and organizations
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, local agencies, and stakeholders
- Plan, organize, and support community events, workshops, outreach activities, and educational programs
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and the community, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
- Respond to inquiries, concerns, and feedback from participants, families, and community members
- Coordinate engagement activities that promote accessibility, inclusion, and participation
- Collaborate with internal departments to identify community needs and program opportunities
- Track participation metrics, collect feedback, and maintain accurate records
- Prepare reports, presentations, and outreach materials
- Support data collection and reporting efforts to evaluate program effectiveness
- Utilize social media and other communication channels to support outreach initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Preferred Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Public Health, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in community outreach, engagement, public relations, or related roles
- Experience working with diverse populations and community-based organizations
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Strong relationship-building and networking abilities
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with social media platforms and outreach tools
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Cultural sensitivity and commitment to inclusive engagement practices
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report data accurately
Work Environment
This position is based in a nonprofit community setting and requires regular interaction with participants, families, community partners, and stakeholders. Local travel may be required to attend meetings, outreach activities, and community events.
