Candidates must be in the greater Columbus area.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the safety and health of employees and oversee the clients' safety policies and procedures.
- Inspect sites for compliance with company safety rules and regulations as well as all federal, state and local agencies guidelines.
- Ability to work overtime (Saturdays). This position comes with flexible hours and the ability to make your own schedule.
- Manage training records, inspection sheets, audits, and other documents related occupational safety.
- Perform training for clients' specific needs.
- Conduct incident investigations as needed.
- Act as client representative in safety meetings.
- Prepare and conduct weekly toolbox talks and stand-downs as needed.
- Additional tasks as requested by the clients/management.
- Assist in promoting our organization and assist in gaining new clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
We are looking for a self-starter who is motivated with good time management skills and growth oriented.
- Five years in a dedicated construction safety role.
- A current CHST or other BCSP certification.
- Knowledge of all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
- Ability to recognize hazardous acts and behaviors, and coach workers in the field to control hazards.
- Observe morning safety discussions with tradespeople to discuss hazards and controls.
- Conduct daily site inspections and maintain a site presence.
- Knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Background check, credit check, MVR, and drug screen may be required (will vary by position).
Preferred Qualifications:
- A degree from an accredited school in Occupational or Environmental Safety and Health (or similar).
