Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems.
- Repair and maintain powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drive axles, ensuring they meet manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs, wheel alignments, and steering system diagnostics to optimize ride quality and handling.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems effectively.
- Service diesel engines and other specialized powertrain components with attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools skillfully for disassembly, repair, and reassembly of vehicle parts while maintaining a clean work environment.
- Communicate clearly with customers about repair needs, timelines, and maintenance recommendations to enhance their experience and trust.
Skills
- Proven dealership or service shop experience with a solid understanding of automotive repair procedures.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, and wiring diagram interpretation.
- Familiarity with Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools for accurate fault detection across various vehicle models.
- Mechanical knowledge covering powertrain, vehicle transmission system repair, vehicle suspension systems, and overall vehicle maintenance.
- Experience working on GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with technical proficiency to explain repairs clearly and professionally.
