Position Summary
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace. This role partners with leadership and employees to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, reduce workplace risks, and foster a strong safety culture across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of EHS programs, policies, and procedures.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.

Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and injuries; document findings and track corrective actions.

Maintain EHS records, including OSHA logs, incident reports, training documentation, and permits.

Coordinate and deliver employee safety training (new hire orientation, job specific, and refresher training).

Support environmental programs including waste management, spill prevention, and regulatory reporting.

Assist with emergency preparedness planning and drills (fire, evacuation, chemical spill, etc.).

Collaborate with supervisors and employees to promote safe work practices and continuous improvement.

Participate in management reviews, safety meetings, and cross functional improvement initiatives.

Administer and document safety and environmental initiatives such as near misses, safety observations, risk registers, etc. Ensure that action items are followed up and closed.
Requirements:
Qualifications
Education & Experience

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.

2–5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state safety regulations.

Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to conduct investigations and root cause analysis.

Effective communication skills with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Certifications (Preferred)

OSHA 30 Hour Certification
-
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP)

First Aid / CPR / AED
Physical Demands & Work Environment
-
Ability to walk manufacturing and warehouse floors for extended periods.
-
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
-
Exposure to typical manufacturing environment conditions including noise, machinery, and temperature variations, with required PPE.
