Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all federal and state regulations. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, and different types of cargo will be essential in maintaining our high standards of service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your driving skills while contributing to efficient logistics operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated, and specialized trailers, on diverse routes such as OTR and local deliveries.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo and hazardous materials in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations.
- Navigate using GPS systems to reach delivery destinations efficiently while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Transport automobile transportation and other specialty freight with precision and care.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and inspection reports as required by FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate routes, delivery schedules, and any unforeseen issues during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials handling, flatbed loads, tanker operations, and dangerous goods transportation.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations.
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely during loading and unloading processes.
- Experience operating trucks with manual transmission and manual handling equipment.
- Strong navigation skills using GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service.
