My Girlfriend's Quilt Shoppe is looking for an experienced Sewing Machine Repair Technician to join our growing team in Logan, Utah. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our customers' sewing, embroidery, and longarm quilting machines perform at their best.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair sewing machines from a variety of manufacturers.
- Service and repair embroidery machines, including timing, tension, electronics, and software-related issues.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on longarm quilting machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and computerized machine issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance and machine tune-ups.
- Order, receive, and maintain replacement parts inventory.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure commonly used repair parts are available.
- Maintain accurate repair records and documentation.
- Communicate repair recommendations and timelines clearly with customers.
- Provide outstanding customer service before, during, and after repairs.
- Assist customers with machine operation questions and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair shop.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience repairing sewing, embroidery, or quilting machines.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience servicing computerized sewing and embroidery equipment.
- Experience repairing or maintaining longarm quilting machines.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and move sewing machines and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred
- Factory training or certification from manufacturers such as Baby Lock, Brother, Janome, Bernina, Pfaff, Husqvarna Viking, Handi Quilter, or similar.
- Experience maintaining inventory and ordering repair parts.
- Knowledge of computerized embroidery systems and software.
