Overview
The Title 1 Teacher is responsible for providing supplemental academic instruction and support to eligible students in grades K-8, with a focus on literacy and mathematics intervention. This position requires expertise in differentiating instruction for gifted children who may have learning gaps or require additional support to reach their full potential. As a representative of the school, the Title 1 Teacher must present a professional, courteous, and friendly attitude while promoting positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Instructional Services
- Identify eligible students through screening, assessment data analysis, and collaboration with classroom teachers.
- Develop and implement individualized and small group instruction plans aligned with Title 1 requirements and state standards.
- Provide targeted intervention in reading, writing, and mathematics using evidence-based instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align Title 1 instruction with core curriculum.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and intervention strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and strategies for home support. Provide resources and strategies to parents to support learning at home.
Program Development and Compliance
- Ensure all Title 1 program activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain organized records of all Title 1 services, student progress, and program documentation.
- Participate in the development and revision of the school's Title 1 program plan.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid Ohio teaching license with appropriate endorsements
- Highly Qualified status under Title 1 requirements
- Reading endorsement or certification (preferred)
- Orton-Gillingham or Wilson training (preferred)
All other duties as assigned.
Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
