Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for our chefs to create delicious meals. This role is essential in maintaining the efficiency of our kitchen and upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and specifications, ensuring consistency in meal preparation.
- Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
- Follow all food safety guidelines to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Support the culinary team by preparing sauces, dressings, and other components as needed.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, mixers, and slicers.
- Collaborate with chefs to understand daily specials and menu changes, adapting prep work accordingly.
- Participate in inventory management by tracking ingredient usage and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.
- Maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Highschool diploma or equivalency preferred.
- Two years as cook in a large-scale cooking operation, preferred.
- One year’s work experience in long term care preferred.
