Our products are found in leading national retailers and specialty stores across the country, with domestic manufacturing and fulfillment proudly based in Wichita.
The Warehouse Associate keeps product moving: receiving inbound goods, storing stock accurately, picking and packing customer orders, and preparing shipments that meet each customer’s requirements. This role is central to on-time, accurate fulfillment and to maintaining an organized, safe warehouse.
It suits someone dependable and detail-minded with a strong work ethic who takes pride in accuracy, keeps their area to standard, and works collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
-
Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and record receipts in the inventory system; report overages, shortages, and damage.
-
Store products accurately in designated locations and maintain organized, correct inventory locations.
-
Pick and pack orders accurately — correct items, quantities, and condition — to daily productivity standards.
-
Prepare orders for shipment: labeling, packaging, and staging to customer-specific packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements (vendor-guide compliance).
-
Process outbound shipments (parcel and LTL) and coordinate with carriers to support timely, accurate deliveries.
-
Support cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and report count discrepancies.
-
Verify products meet quality standards and customer specifications before shipment; report damaged or defective items.
-
Maintain 5S standards in assigned areas — clean, organized, clutter-free, tools and equipment put away each shift.
-
Perform routine equipment inspections (pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts when certified) and report issues to management.
-
Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, participate in safety training, and report hazards or incidents immediately.
-
Work collaboratively across warehouse functions and flex to support fulfillment surges as assigned.
-
Identify and suggest improvements to warehouse processes and workflows.
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Ability to perform physical warehouse work reliably, including lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods.
-
Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and customer compliance requirements.
-
Dependable attendance; able to work independently and as part of a team.
-
Previous warehouse, fulfillment, or similar experience.
-
Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems (NetSuite/RF-Smart or similar).
-
Forklift certification, or willingness to be certified by ORB.
-
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Success in this role will be measured by:
-
Pick and ship accuracy (error/mis-ship rate).
-
Productivity against daily pick/pack standards.
-
Receiving accuracy and putaway location integrity.
-
Customer compliance (labeling and packaging chargebacks attributable to handling).
-
5S audit results and safety record.
This position works in a warehouse environment and requires standing and walking for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and repetitive motion; and regularly lifting and moving product up to 50 pounds (team lifts above that). The role involves operating material-handling equipment, working around moving equipment and racking, and exposure to moderate noise, dust, and seasonal temperature variation. Proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures are required at all times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Open Road Brands is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
