Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, interpret blueprints and schematics, and utilize a wide range of hand and power tools. Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to support automation processes.
- Ensure all electrical work adheres to NEC standards, safety regulations, and local building codes.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical installations during renovation or new construction projects.
- Conduct inspections using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to identify issues quickly and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including logs of inspections, repairs, and system modifications.
- Assist with framing carpentry or handyman tasks as needed to support overall project progress on construction sites.
- Support high voltage electrical systems installation and maintenance when required.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents during construction or renovation activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial or commercial electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage wiring, and high voltage systems.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, along with power tools necessary for electrical work.
- Familiarity with NEC standards and local electrical codes for safe installation practices.
- Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects with a focus on safety compliance.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues effectively.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and schematic diagrams for complex systems.
- Hands-on experience in framing carpentry or handyman tasks is a plus for supporting broader project needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively within teams.
