PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs duties under supervision, within well established guidelines and practical knowledge gained from experience.
- Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
- Greets patients or visitors, answers/screens/routes telephone calls, files, distributes mail and performs other general clerical duties.
- Assemble and maintain patient charts.
- May be responsible for maintaining office inventory including ordering supplies. Ensures that office equipment is in good working order and requests repairs or maintenance as needed.
- Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all HIPAA rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional Medical, Administrative or Business School);
EXPERIENCE
- One year experience in a medical office setting preferred.
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal/communications skills; Knowledge of medical/mental health office operations to include reception, billing and insurance and general office skills; computer skills to include typing.
