In this role, you will coordinate high-quality, compliant services for clients while building and maintaining strong partnerships throughout the community. We are Ogden Weber Community Action Partnership (OWCAP), and we are searching for a Housing Services Specialist to lead our housing education efforts within the community.

- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, public relations, or related field
- Mediation Certification preferred
- Minimum of three years of negotiations, crisis management, social services, and/or housing background preferred
- Experience in Microsoft Office

What you’ll do as the Housing Services Specialist:
- Report to and work with the Community Support Manager to implement landlord-tenant mediation services, tenant and landlord education, legal referrals, and direct case management.
- Develop partnerships to maintain current information on resources for renters’ rental assistance, legal aid, and mediation strategies. Educate and refer tenants and landlords to these resources as appropriate.

- Maintain current knowledge of landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities, including eviction law
- Coordinate and market housing and mediation services within the local community.
- Assist clients in the development of mediation agreement/repayment plans as needed.
- Provide workshops to educate clients to become aware of the cause-and-effect relationship between their circumstances (social and financial) and their choices (behavior).
- Provide case management and goal-setting opportunities to participants.
- Assess social and financial barriers to determine appropriate interventions and ensure clients have access to all available direct-client services.
- Ensure housing grant timelines are met and provide department reports.
- Monitor grant budgets in collaboration with Community Support Manager.
