American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) with CVOR experience and DaVinci robotics skills for a 13-week travel assignment at a short-term acute care hospital.

Short-term acute care hospital with 6 ORs, handling both inpatient and outpatient surgical cases
-
Required case types include General, Orthopedics, Ortho/Total Joints, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Vascular, Bariatrics, Podiatry, Carotid Endarterectomy, Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft, and CVOR

Preferred case types include Gynecology, Plastics, and TCAR

Department caseload includes DaVinci Robotics/laparoscopic/open general surgery (cholecystectomies, colon resections, bariatrics, ventral/inguinal hernias, appendectomies), orthopedic fractures and total joints, vascular (carotids, distal bypasses, AV fistulas, TCARs), basic urology, and mastectomies

Day shift: 4x10-hour shifts, 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Weekend work is required

On-call is required: 1–2 weeknights per week and 1–2 24-hour weekend shifts per month

Floating within scope to assist and scrub is required to meet facility needs

May float to sister facilities (MDH, MPH, MCH, or SAH)

Cerner EMR used; experience preferred

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Minimum of 2 years of surgical first assistant experience required
-
CVOR experience required
-
Inpatient and outpatient work setting experience required
-
Proficiency in scrubbing, first assisting, and aseptic technique required
-
DaVinci robotics experience required
-
NBSTSA and CSFA national certifications required
-
BLS certification required
-
COVID-19 vaccination required (medical and religious exemptions accepted)

State license required if applicable

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Perform both scrub and first assist roles across a wide range of surgical specialties
-
First-time travelers are accepted with 5 or more years of experience
-
Local candidates are accepted

Pending state licenses are not accepted

No RTO is permitted in the contract; when applicable, RTO may be discussed during the interview

Block schedule requests may be discussed during the interview if applicable
