About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established, growing manufacturer serving the industrial B2B sector. To support its next phase of growth, the company is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing to build, execute, and optimize a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives market development, brand positioning, lead generation, sales enablement, and revenue growth.
This role carries strategic responsibility for market intelligence and new market development — identifying where and how the company should compete, including industry, customer, and product segmentation — with a current focus on accelerating penetration into strong growth sectors such as building/construction, data centers, alternative energy, and other target growth markets.
This is a strategic role with a seat at the executive leadership table to help set and execute company strategy, combined with a highly hands-on role in which the Director will personally drive execution, supported by a Marketing Coordinator who reports directly to this position. The ideal candidate understands B2B industrial marketing, digital advertising, CRM-driven lead management, and how to turn technical capabilities into clear, compelling market-facing messaging.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop and deliver market intelligence — competitive landscape, target customers, and product fit — to guide the company's expansion into new markets, with a current focus on building/construction, data centers, alternative energy, and other target growth segments.
● Hold a seat at the executive leadership table as a strategic partner in setting and executing the company's market and growth strategy — not just its marketing tactics.
● Evaluate and implement additional marketing and lead generation software/platforms to strengthen prospecting, nurturing, and conversion.
● Manage a Marketing Coordinator, delegating tactical execution while remaining personally hands-on with strategy, key campaigns, and market development work.
● Develop and execute a marketing strategy aligned with company growth goals, sales priorities, target industries, and leadership direction.
● Own the marketing roadmap across digital advertising, website strategy, content, sales collateral, email marketing, brand positioning, trade shows, and reporting.
● Manage and optimize Google Ads campaigns, including search, display, remarketing, conversion tracking, keyword strategy, budget allocation, and lead quality improvement.
● Oversee SEO, website performance, landing pages, forms, calls-to-action, and conversion rate optimization to improve inbound lead generation.
● Maintain and update the company's WordPress website, including page updates, landing page creation, banners, basic content changes, and coordination with developers or agencies as needed.
● Create and manage sales collateral, capability sheets, case studies, presentations, industry-specific marketing materials, blog content, email content, and other customer-facing resources.
● Translate technical manufacturing capabilities into clear, practical, compelling messaging for OEMs, engineers, buyers, and sourcing teams.
● Use Salesforce CRM and Salesforce marketing tools, including Marketing Cloud Account Engagement/Pardot, to support lead capture, segmentation, nurturing, campaign attribution, and sales follow-up visibility.
● Plan and execute targeted email marketing campaigns, nurture sequences, customer/prospect segmentation, and campaign performance tracking.
● Coordinate trade shows, customer events, industry events, booth materials, pre-event outreach, post-event follow-up, and event ROI tracking.
● Build dashboards and provide regular reporting to the executive leadership team on marketing performance, lead generation, campaign ROI, website analytics, pipeline contribution, and recommended next actions.
● Manage external agencies, freelancers, vendors, designers, writers, and digital advertising partners as needed.
● Strengthen the company's brand positioning, messaging consistency, market perception, and overall professional presence across digital and traditional channels.
Required Qualifications
● 10+ years of marketing experience, preferably with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or senior marketing role.
● Strong B2B marketing experience, ideally in manufacturing.
● Proven experience managing Google Ads and digital marketing campaigns with a focus on measurable lead generation and ROI.
● Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement/Pardot or similar tools.
● Working knowledge of WordPress or similar CMS platforms, including the ability to make basic website updates and manage content changes.
● Experience developing sales collateral, case studies, presentations, brochures, email campaigns, landing pages, and other marketing materials.
● Strong analytical ability and comfort building reports, interpreting marketing data, and presenting performance insights to leadership.
● Excellent communication, organization, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
● Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, or business development work to guide entry into new markets or customer segments.
Preferred Experience
● Experience in custom manufacturing, metal components, plastic components, or engineered products.
● Familiarity with SEO tools, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, LinkedIn advertising, website conversion tracking, and campaign attribution.
● Experience working closely with sales teams to improve lead quality, lead follow-up, sales enablement, and pipeline development.
● Experience managing external marketing agencies, website developers, graphic designers, content writers, or digital advertising partners.
● Familiarity with data centers, energy storage/solar, or other industrial OEM growth markets.
Key Competencies
● Strategic thinker who is also willing to execute hands-on work.
● Skilled at converting market intelligence into actionable go-to-market direction — where and how to compete, including industry, customer, and product segmentation.
● Data-driven, commercially minded, and comfortable being measured by results.
● Strong writer and communicator who can simplify technical topics for customers.
● Highly organized, proactive, accountable, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
● Collaborative partner to sales, operations, leadership, and external vendors.
● Comfortable building structure, process, and reporting in a growing marketing function.
What Success Looks Like
● Increase in qualified leads, sales opportunities, and marketing-influenced pipeline.
● Established pipeline and executive-level traction in new target markets, including data centers and energy storage.
● Improvement in cost per lead, lead quality, conversion rates, and return on advertising spend.
● Growth in website traffic, form submissions, landing page conversions, and search visibility.
● Improved Salesforce visibility into lead source, campaign attribution, and follow-up performance.
● Creation of effective sales collateral, case studies, industry pages, and customer-facing materials.
● Measurable ROI from trade shows, events, email campaigns, and digital advertising campaigns.
