Harvard Elementary School, an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and STEM Magnet in the heart of the Houston Heights, is seeking a passionate, student-centered Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher to join our collaborative team.

Position Responsibilities
As the ECSE Teacher, you will:
- Provide high-quality, individualized instruction for students with a variety of disabilities, including autism, speech and language impairments, specific learning disabilities, developmental delays, and other exceptionalities.
- Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lessons aligned to each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Collect, analyze, and maintain accurate student progress monitoring data to guide instructional decisions and document student growth.
- Serve as the case manager for assigned students, ensuring compliance with all special education timelines, documentation, and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with families, general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, diagnosticians, behavior specialists, and other service providers to provide comprehensive support for students.
- Assist in drafting IEPs, facilitating ARD meetings, and communicating effectively with families throughout the special education process.
- Create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that supports communication, social-emotional growth, independence, and positive behavior.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies, accommodations, assistive technology, and behavior supports to meet diverse student needs.
- Maintain organized records, documentation, and compliance files.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative campus culture and actively participate in campus professional learning and continuous improvement efforts.
Our Ideal Candidate

- Certified in Special Education (Texas certification required)
- Knowledgeable about IEP development, progress monitoring, and special education compliance
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and documentation

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with Special Education certification (EC–12)
- Early childhood teaching experience preferred
- Experience working with students with autism, developmental delays, speech and language needs, and other disabilities is preferred
- Experience with progress monitoring, IEP implementation, and ARD participation preferred
