Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers, providing exceptional service, and ensuring the smooth operation of the sales floor. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail experience, and a passion for helping customers find the products they need. Bilingual abilities and prior supervisory experience are a plus. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop sales skills within a dynamic retail environment. Morning availability preferred.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
- Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions and inventory data.
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
- Upsell additional products and accessories to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
- Maintain attractive merchandising displays and ensure products are well-stocked
- Handle stock replenishment, inventory management, and merchandising tasks
- Provide excellent customer service through active listening and effective communication
- Manage cash handling accurately, including cashiering duties and balancing registers
- Assist in supervising store operations when needed, including supervising staff or training new team members
- Follow phone etiquette standards when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
- Perform light maintenance and cleaning duties
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in decor- gift retail stores or similar environments
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, and retail math calculations
- Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Strong communication skills essential for engaging with customers effectively
- Experience with product demos, upselling techniques, merchandising, stocking, and customer service is preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
