Role Purpose: The Direct Care staff will provide daily oversight to the patients of the Lynn Community Health Center’s Respite Care Center, ensure the program is welcoming and safe, and operates in a manner consistent with Housing Families values.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with all patients and staff in a friendly, professional manner.
- Conduct walkthroughs and assess each patient for their overall wellbeing and report any concerns about wellbeing immediately.
- Manage the RCC milieu to maintain a safe living environment.
- Organize and prepare meals daily.
- Manage daily washing and distribution of laundry and linens.
- Perform medication observation in accordance with RCC procedures.
- Respond to questions and concerns from patients in a professional and respectful manner and communicate their feedback to the appropriate staff.
- Follow established procedures and policies related to patients and RCC operations ensuring a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
- Regularly inventory supplies for RCC.
- Maintain all public areas (offices, stairs, hallways, etc.) in a clean, orderly manner.
- Address emergency situations as necessary and provide skillful de-escalation.
- Follow all agency and RCC guidelines related to security, safety, and confidentiality.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and all required HFI and RCC training.
- Meet weekly with Supervisor and address any job-related issues and receive feedback and support.
- Review all log entries and new memos posted daily.
- Log all relevant information in the appropriate format in daily log(s).
- Submit accurate timesheets on a timely basis.
- Perform other related duties as needed or as directed.
- Demonstrated timely and consistent work history
- Ability to walk up and down stairs quickly in an emergency.
- Ability to maintain boundaries and confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to follow program guidelines on safety, handling emergencies, etc.
- Well-developed assessment skills and crisis management responses.
- Prior experience in a Direct Care or Supportive Services Role. Prior experience working in a medical facility is a plus.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be able to work available shifts: 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, 12am-8am daily.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be 18 years or older
