We’re the current captains and former head coach of Princeton University’s Open Collegiate synchronized skating team. We’re currently searching for a coach or choreographer for our team, ideally someone willing to stay on for multiple seasons. We compensate generously, including compensation for travel expenses, and our rates are also open to negotiation.Our season runs from September until Mid February. A coach would be expected to be present for weekly practices throughout the season, 3 weekend competitions, and a few pre-season preparatory activities. A choreographer would be expected to be present for a choreography bootcamp at the beginning of our season.The responsibilities and qualifications for each are outlined below:
Coach:
Responsibilities:
- Mid August: Onboarding meetings with captains and previous head coach
- Early September: season tryouts
- Mid September: Full weekend pre-season bootcamp
- September-February: Weekly practices (Tues & Thurs 9:30-11:30pm) at Hobey Baker Rink in Princeton, NJ
- Mid-November: Essex Synchronized Skating Classic (full Saturday) in West Orange, NJ
- Late November: Boston Synchro Skating Classic (full weekend) in Norwood, MA
- Late January: Eastern Synchro Championships (full weekend, tentative) in Reading, PA
- Mid April: at least one night practice before our spring show
- Late April: Weekend morning brunch/end-of-season banquet
Qualifications:
- Competitive synchro experience
- Synchro coaching experience
- Knowledge of IJS rules and elements
Choreographer:
Responsibilities:
- Mid August: Onboarding meeting with captains and coach
- Mid September: Full weekend pre-season bootcamp
Qualifications:
- Previous synchro choreography experience (preferably for a competitive team)
Pay: $80.00 - $100.00 per hour
