We are currently seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Job Placement Specialist to serve customers throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Position Summary
The Job Placement Specialist works directly with individuals receiving Vocational Rehabilitation services to help them obtain competitive integrated employment. This position combines career coaching, employer outreach, job development, networking, and individualized employment planning. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships with businesses, helping others succeed, and working independently in the community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop individualized employment plans based on each customer's strengths, interests, abilities, and employment goals.
- Provide one-on-one coaching in:
- Resume development
- Employment applications
- Interview preparation
- Professional references
- Job search strategies
- Workplace communication
- Preparing for the first day of work
- Conduct individualized job development by contacting employers and identifying employment opportunities that match customer goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
- Network with local businesses, workforce organizations, chambers of commerce, and community partners.
- Schedule and accompany customers to interviews when appropriate.
- Assist customers with completing onboarding requirements and transitioning successfully into employment.
- Communicate regularly with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors regarding customer progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation that meets Texas Workforce Commission standards and required service benchmarks.
- Meet performance expectations related to successful customer placements and employment retention.
- Travel throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area to meet with customers and employers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation, Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Experience in staffing, recruiting, workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, sales, human resources, case management, business development, or employment services is highly preferred.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable making cold calls and developing employer partnerships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple customers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and online job boards.
