Officina [oh · fee · she · nah], or “workshop,” is an Italian-inspired culinary collective from Chef Nicholas Stefanelli of Michelin-star Masseria. Officina is the realization of Chef Stefanelli's career-long dream to bring the very best of Italian gastronomy together under one roof.
In terms of both cuisine and service, our standards are high – and so are those of our guests.
In the kitchen, everything is created from scratch, with great attention to detail, including bread service and all ingredients supporting the cocktail program; we also practice whole animal butchery. Our front-of-the-house team provides seamless service to our guests with knowledge and warmth. The ideal candidate must possess strong knowledge of French cuisine and fundamental culinary techniques. As Sous Chef you will assist in overseeing all kitchen operations. This leadership role requires an ability to balance exceptional culinary execution alongside the ability to lead a team and manage food costs. You will be working closely with the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine and Pastry Chef as well as other management positions. The ability to multi-task and ensure consistency in a fast-paced environment is a must.

Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a full-service restaurant and/or degree in culinary arts
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership and management role
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading and writing)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual/multilingual
- Food Handlers/ServSafe certification
- Previous experience with systems like Toast, R365, Indeed, Culinary Agents

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation and production, management and training of kitchen staff
- Ensure efficient, cost effective operation and profitability of food production
- Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality and are prepared to serve in a timely manner
- Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept in good working order
- Assume the role as CDC in his absence
- Monitor and take notes of inventory and ordering
- Order with budget in mind but without sacrificing quality
- Assure kitchen staff is trained in best practices
- Keep up with culinary trends
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to squat, crouch, bend over
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
