American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring a PA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of ER experience.

Work in the Emergency Department of a community hospital setting
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
-
Every other weekend (EOW) shift rotation required
-
Holiday coverage required
-
Active PA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
-
Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience required
-
Community hospital experience preferred
-
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
-
Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
-
Experience managing dysrhythmias
-
Proficient in IV therapy and phlebotomy
-
Central line care and management experience
-
Experience administering IV vasopressors
-
BiPAP/CPAP management skills
-
Experience caring for ventilated patients
-
Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
-
Triage skills required
-
One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration

Provide emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of critically ill patients

Must complete PA fingerprinting and ChildLine clearance within 48 hours of signing contract, with fingerprints completed in PA
-
Must complete required lab work within 72 hours of signing contract

Candidates must be responsive and cooperative throughout the credentialing process to avoid risk of contract cancellation

Any previous permanent or per diem employment with Penn Highlands Healthcare must be disclosed and must have ended at least 18 months prior to applying as a traveler
