Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, including product information and recommendations
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges with accuracy
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties responsibly
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of various items
- Maintain an organized checkout area by stocking supplies and ensuring cleanliness
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and restocking shelves as needed
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves and conducting stock counts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining phone etiquette when assisting via phone
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a customer-focused attitude are essential
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is a plus
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Supervising experience in retail or related fields is advantageous for leadership opportunities
- Strong communication skills to engage customers confidently and clearly explain products or promotions
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is beneficial for understanding fast-paced operations
