We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Experienced Steel Erector to join our growing construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and securing pre-engineered steel structures on various construction sites. Your expertise will ensure the safety, precision, and efficiency of steel installation, contributing to the successful completion of large-scale building developments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team committed to excellence in steel fabrication and erection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install pre-engineered metal building systems, including walls, roofs, and structural steel components
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble steel components
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Conduct inspections of completed work for quality assurance; utilize schematics and blueprints to verify accuracy during assembly
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet project timelines
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years proven construction site experience with a focus on steel erection or fabrication projects
- Ability to read complex blueprints and schematics confidently
- Extensive experience with hand tools and power tools
- Experience operating cranes, forklifts, rigging gear, and other heavy machinery safely on-site
- Knowledge of and strong commitment to safety standards and best practices (OSHA 30 preferred but not required for hire).
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights (up to 50 feet or more)
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites absolutely required
- Strong work ethic and a team-oriented attitude
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG and stick not required, but would be helpful from time to time
- Strong math skills
