Bay Electric Co., Inc. is hiring Commercial Electricians and Electrical Apprentices for ongoing projects throughout Hampton Roads.
Work includes new construction, renovations, service work, troubleshooting, maintenance, and government projects at commercial, healthcare, industrial, educational, and military facilities.
We are seeking motivated apprentices looking to build a long-term career in the electrical trade, along with experienced electricians who can work independently and contribute immediately to project success.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications
- Install conduit, wiring, lighting, switchgear, panels, and electrical equipment
- Perform service, maintenance, and troubleshooting work as required
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
- Follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements
- Coordinate with field supervisors, project managers, customers, and team members
- Work on commercial construction sites, occupied facilities, healthcare facilities, and government installations
Qualifications
Apprentice Electricians
- Minimum 2 years of electrical or construction-related experience preferred
- Currently enrolled in or interested in pursuing an apprenticeship program
- Ability to learn electrical installation methods and safety requirements
- Reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Experienced Electricians
- Commercial electrical experience
- Ability to install and troubleshoot commercial electrical systems
- Experience reading blueprints and electrical drawings
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Journeyman license or equivalent experience is a plus
Preferred Experience
- Commercial construction
- Service and troubleshooting work
- Healthcare facilities
- Government, military, or other secure facilities
- Experience working in occupied facilities
- Ability to obtain access to military installations and other secure job sites by successfully completing required background screenings
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background screening required for government facilities
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening
- Ability to lift, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work in active construction environments
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Pay
$20.00 - $50.00 per hour depending on experience, licensing, and position.
