Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in commercial and industrial environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute precise electrical installations
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete wiring tasks on construction sites or renovation projects
- Test electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults or issues
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to support automation processes
- Ensure all work adheres to NEC standards and local electrical codes for safety and compliance
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman services to coordinate project timelines
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on high voltage and low voltage systems to prevent outages or failures
Requirements
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems in construction or renovation projects
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with NEC regulations, schematics interpretation, and blueprint reading skills
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), high voltage (HV), and low voltage (LV) electrical systems
- Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, along with power tools for installation tasks
- Knowledge of Ohmmeters and other testing devices for diagnosing electrical issues
- Construction site experience demonstrating safety awareness and adherence to protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to perform frame carpentry or handyman tasks as needed during installation or renovation projects
