JOB SUMMARY:
The Casino Shift Manager is responsible for ensuring that the casino floor has 24/7 coverage. The Casino Shift Manager will also assist the General Manager in ensuring that the casino is operating efficiently, effectively and within the guidelines of the casino’s policies, procedures, internal control standards, objectives, and the Mission, Vision and Value Statement of Coyote Valley Casino.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned

Work in conjunction with all department managers and supervisors in the supervision of personnel and efficient operation of the casino property during an assigned shift.

Monitor employee personnel activities and take appropriate actions with the appropriate management personnel in support of efficient operations.

Maintain a high standard of guest service within the Casino and actively promote positive customer and employee relations by actively walking the
Casino floor and ensuring that excellent customer service is continually provided. -
Shall resolve customer and employee disputes that may arise and settle disputes in a manner that expresses excellent customer service as well as ensuring that the best interest of the operation is considered at all times.

Utilize effective communication tools to ensure that consistent, accurate and timely information is provided throughout all shifts.

Communicate regularly with employees and keep them informed of all casino activities and events.

Assist with the execution of marketing promotions and activities in support of guest service.

Monitor controls designed to assure full compliance with state, federal, and tribal regulatory requirements.
-
Assist in monitoring the payouts on the tables and/or machines to ensure proper amounts are being paid to customers.

Ensure that organizational and regulatory policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.
-
Work closely with the Security Department in warning or ejecting persons from the Casino who are causing a disturbance and call Tribal Police authorities for assistance when necessary.

Act as signatory on jackpots as outlined in the System of Internal Control Manual.

Implement the emergency action plans of the operation.

Recommend appropriate changes to policies, procedures and special event activities.

Control casino labor costs by adjusting daily work force based on customer volume through the cooperation and assistance of all department managers.

Ensure the casino facility presents a professional and clean environment for both

Ensure the professional behavior and appearance of all department heads working within the casino as outlined in the Coyote Valley Casino Employee Handbook.

Work various days and shifts while staying available to provide unscheduled coverage, when necessary, and attend meetings.

Ensure timely and accurate evaluations are given to direct reports with appropriate development plans, providing each with clear directives needed to meet and achieve departmental standards and goals.

Maintain an excellent attendance record.

Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager or other casino executives.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of casino experience and two or more years of personnel supervisory experience required.

Successful candidate must be knowledgeable of all aspects of the casino operation to effectively address customer complaints.

Successful candidate must be an experienced, results oriented, hands-on professional with a pleasant personality and the ability to interact with the public and co-workers.

Must demonstrate leadership, fairness, and sensibility to the customers and employees.

Must possess ability to instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in subordinate employees.

Must possess an understanding of legal ramifications and implications of various employee and customer actions.
Language Skills:

Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Must be able to multi-task and work in a busy environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary to perform the required job duties. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. The environment is not smoke free.
