Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care by performing physical examinations, vital signs assessments, and patient evaluations.
- Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, and other routes while following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Assist with complex procedures such as catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, and wound care including ostomy management.
- Manage emergency situations by providing airway management, ventilator support, and acute pain management in line with best practices.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient care accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies including memory care and behavioral health support.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpreting test results to inform treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in good standing with relevant state certification.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine, ICU, emergency room, or post-acute care environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and HIPAA regulations.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to perform invasive procedures including phlebotomy, venipuncture, and sterile processing techniques.
- Critical care experience such as ICU or Level I/II trauma center background highly preferred.
- Skilled in patient assessment across populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal ventilator management, and individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients on health coaching topics like nutrition and medication adherence. Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per day
