Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatic systems, and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics, electrical blueprint reading, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to identify faults accurately.
- Repair or replace defective parts using welding skills (including welding), mechanical knowledge, and technical expertise.
- Operate field service equipment like scissor lifts and ensure compliance with safety protocols during maintenance activities.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to diagnose issues effectively.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders and asset history.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on troubleshooting high voltage systems and implementing improvements for industrial processes.
- Support customer service initiatives by providing technical assistance to internal teams or external clients when needed.
Skills
- Extensive experience in manufacturing facilities with a strong understanding of industrial mechanics and maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, including low voltage and high voltage systems, using tools like ammeters and ohmmeters.
- Skilled in working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, electrical blueprint reading, and engineering troubleshooting methods.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R systems, industrial electrician practices, welding techniques (including welding), and hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting.
- Ability to operate scissor lifts safely while adhering to safety standards; familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus.
- Strong analysis skills for diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Experience with CMMS software for maintenance tracking; field service experience is highly valued.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly in English.
- Background in military or industrial electrician experience is advantageous; familiarity with high voltage systems is essential.
