Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions across regional routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while managing route driving schedules effectively
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Communicate proactively with dispatch to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any route adjustments or issues
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with endorsements
- Proven experience as a truck driver with delivery driver experience in freight transportation
- Skilled in load & unload procedures using forklifts or manual methods when necessary
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling
- Excellent route planning skills with a focus on efficiency and punctuality
- Physical ability to perform load securement tasks and conduct vehicle inspections regularly
