Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipe guidelines.
- Support meal preparation by organizing ingredients and assembling components according to menu specifications.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools.
- Follow food safety protocols and sanitation standards to ensure a hygienic environment at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service and manage food handling procedures efficiently.
- Maintain an organized workspace by properly storing supplies and cleaning station areas regularly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, food safety management, and operating kitchen equipment is essential.
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrates strong communication skills with kitchen staff.
- Ability to adhere strictly to safety standards in production and handling of food items.
- Basic knife skills including slicing techniques are advantageous for supporting meal prep tasks.
