Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods across various healthcare settings. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
- Monitor fetal heart rates, maternal vital signs, and progress of labor through continuous assessment.
- Administer medications, including epidurals and other analgesics, following physician orders while managing potential side effects.
- Assist with obstetric procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and sterile technique during delivery.
- Educate patients on childbirth processes, postpartum care, breastfeeding techniques, and newborn care practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and support staff to coordinate optimal patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic.
- Respond swiftly to obstetric emergencies utilizing advanced skills in airway management, acute pain management, and trauma medicine.
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Support discharge planning by providing comprehensive education and coordinating follow-up care.
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state licensure or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience in labor and delivery nursing within hospital settings; Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred.
- Proficiency with EHR systems such as Cerner or Epic; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) is advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in obstetric procedures including suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, and sterile processing techniques.
- Critical care experience in settings such as ICU or emergency room is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of fetal monitoring technology and physiology related to labor management.
- Ability to perform physical examinations accurately and assess patient needs effectively.
- Strong communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are required.
- Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or in home & community care environments is a plus.

Pay: $2,100.00 - $2,500.00 per week
