Africa Renewal Ministries USA (Remote)
Africa Renewal Ministries (ARM) is a Christ centered, faith based ministry renewing Africa through the gospel of Jesus Christ and the local church. The mission is carried out by 3 core pillars - Embracing Children, Equipping Leaders, and Empowering Communities
ARM is hiring for a Development Professional position with one of two potential track focuses: Senior Development Officer or Director of Church Partnerships and Sponsorship. Candidates should review both potential tracks below and apply to the one that matches their experience level. ARM is looking for someone who loves Jesus and wants to help lead a Gospel centered ministry, bringing genuine faith, relational strength, and proven development or church relations experience to the work.
This is a remote position open to candidates across the United States.
Position Track Option One: Senior Development Officer
Reports to: Director of Development & Mission Advancement
Experience required: 3 to 5 years in nonprofit development
Scope: An individual contributor role focused on managing and building a personal portfolio of mid-level to major donors. This role does not carry church partnership or national network responsibilities; those belong to Position Track Two below.
Sponsorship Portfolio
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for the ARM Child Sponsorship program across the US donor base
- Lead Hope Sundays strategy and execution in partnership with church development contacts
- Manage online engagement donor cultivation, including digital stewardship touchpoints and conversion pathways
- Partner with the Programs Lead to maintain real time sponsorship data integrity in the CRM, coordinating with ARM Uganda
- Produce quarterly impact stories and sponsorship reports that feed into broader donor communications
- Develop and expand a church champion network for sponsorship recruitment
Mid-Level Donor Portfolio ($10K to $25K)
- Build and manage a personal portfolio of 60 to 80 mid-major donors in the $10,000 to $25,000 range
- Identify upgrade candidates through data analysis and event engagement tracking
- Design individualized cultivation plans for top-tier portfolio donors, with a moves management goal of advancing donors within 12 to 24 months year over year
- Co-host donor events and personally follow up with mid-major prospects
- Make direct solicitations for donors in the $10,000 to $25,000 range independently, partnering with the Director of Development for asks above $25,000
- Maintain complete and current CRM contact records, gift history, and next-step notes for every portfolio relationship
Qualifications: Position Track One

- 3 to 5 years of nonprofit development experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working with CRM systems, donor data, and reporting
- Self-starter capable of working remotely with a distributed team
- Willingness to travel periodically for donor events and church visits
Position Track Option Two: Director of Church Partnerships & Sponsorships
Reports to: Executive Director
Experience required: 5 to 10 years in nonprofit development, with senior church relations experience
Scope: A director level role owning ARM's national church partner network and setting sponsorship strategy across the country. This role sits on ARM's director leadership team alongside the Executive Director, the Director of Development & Mission Advancement, and the Operations Director, and carries broader strategic and representational responsibility than Position One.
Church Partnership Development
- Build and own ARM's national church partner network, with a goal of 100 active partners by 2030
- Develop differentiated engagement strategies for three church partnership levels: Major ($50,000+), Mid-level ($15,000 to $49,000), and Entry ($5,000 to $14,000)
- Represent ARM in senior pastor, church leadership board, and denominational relationship conversations with peer level credibility, alongside the Executive Director and Director of Development
- Create and deliver church partnership materials including impact reports, partnership agreements, and church toolkit resources
- Coordinate national church activation strategy with the Director of Development & Mission Advancement to ensure aligned outreach
- Lead ARM's presence at relevant church, denominational, and ministry conferences to build network and visibility
Sponsorship Program Ownership
- Serve as the primary US relationship owner for the ARM Child Sponsorship program, managing all donor facing stewardship and communications
- Lead Hope Sundays strategy nationally: recruiting church champions, providing church facing resources, and tracking engagement outcomes
- Own online engagement infrastructure, including digital donor cultivation, social sponsorship campaigns, and conversion touchpoints
- Partner with the Program Lead to maintain CRM sponsorship data in close coordination with ARM Uganda operations, ensuring accuracy of donor to child matches, correspondence, and updates
- Produce quarterly sponsorship impact reports and annual program summaries for donors, church partners, and leadership
- Design and execute sponsorship growth campaigns including lapsed sponsor reactivation, new sponsor acquisition, and church based events
Leadership & Cross-Team Collaboration
- Participate in director level leadership conversations with the Executive Director, Director of Development & Mission Advancement, and Operations Director
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Director on church facing materials, sponsorship storytelling, and digital content strategy
- Contribute to campaign strategy for Hope Rising, Hope Encounters, and Vision Trips as they relate to church partner cultivation
- Represent the church and sponsorship perspective in development team planning, quarterly reviews, and annual strategy sessions
Qualifications: Position Track Two
- A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with ARM's statement of faith and core values
- 5 to 10 years of nonprofit development experience, including direct church relations at a senior level
- Demonstrated ability to represent an organization credibly to senior pastors, church boards, and denominational leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing partnership materials and impact reporting
- Comfort working with CRM systems, donor data, and reporting
- Self-starter capable of working remotely, leading cross-team collaboration, and setting national strategy
- Willingness to travel for donor events, church visits, and conferences
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is commensurate with experience and will be discussed during the interview process. ARM offers a benefits package including health coverage, retirement contribution, and paid time off.
