Pride health is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in providing professional pharmacy services to patients, staff, and the community in Fort Worth, TX, 76104. The Pharmacy Technician will perform clerical and technical duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, with responsibilities increasing as experience, skills, and competency are demonstrated.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, nurses, providers, and medical staff during prescription drop-off and pick-up.
- Provide basic information regarding medication availability, dosage forms, refill status, and prescription procedures.
- Answer incoming telephone calls, independently resolve routine prescription-related concerns, and request prescriptions from providers as needed.
- Fill controlled-substance prescriptions accurately, including medication selection, counting, labeling, required counts, perpetual inventory maintenance, and associated documentation.
- Fill prescriptions by selecting medications and supplies, accurately counting medications, prepackaging, reconstituting, and labeling prescriptions according to established procedures.
- Restock and maintain counting cells, perform daily cleaning and maintenance, and use counting cells as required.
- Support pharmacy quality-control and performance-improvement initiatives, including medication-room audits, sterile-product audit documentation, expired-medication checks, and other assigned projects.
- Participate in required and offered department education.
- Maintain Cook Children’s Pharmacy Standards of Behavior.
- Follow all department, hospital, and regulatory policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Perform additional pharmacy-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant pharmacy technician experience.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics, the metric system, chemistry, and medical terminology.
- General knowledge of office procedures, including filing and record keeping.
- Strong telephone, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Texas Pharmacy Intern License.
- BLS from the American Heart Association is listed as a required certification.
- Must be comfortable working evening shifts and weekends.
