Cook/Cashier (Part-Time)Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and friendly Part-Time Cook/Cashier to join our vibrant food service team. In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment while also assisting in food preparation, ensuring smooth transactions, and delivering exceptional customer service. This is a part-time position, and applicants must be available to work a flexible schedule based on business and operational needs, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with menu inquiries to enhance their dining experience.
- Operate cash registers efficiently, processing payments accurately and promptly.
- Handle food safely while following all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Support food preparation and meal assembly, including basic cooking and plating as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station, kitchen, and dining areas.
- Assist in menu planning by providing feedback based on customer preferences and trends.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
- Restock food, beverages, and supplies throughout each shift.
- Complete opening, closing, and side work assignments as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or culinary environments preferred; experience in fine dining or catering is a plus.
- Knowledge of food handling, food safety, and kitchen operations.
- Strong knife skills, meal preparation, and basic cooking abilities are preferred.
- Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Basic understanding of menu planning, food industry standards, and food safety regulations.
- Must be able to work a flexible part-time schedule based on company needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
