Pay
- $18-22 per hour
- Pay rate based on qualifications and experience
- Part-Time Recurring (Year-Round), Not Benefit Eligible
Hours of Work
- Hours include days, evenings, and weekends.
- Hours may be limited by inclement weather.
Typical Duties Performed
- Teach pickleball fundamentals to youth and/or adults, focusing on skill development, safety, fair play, sportsmanship, and fun.
- Prepare lesson plans prior to each session, teaching skills in developmentally appropriate stages.
- Emphasize skills development including safety, fair play, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.
- Schedule & organize tournaments & leagues.
- Constantly evaluate the activity participants’ strengths and abilities to provide for the appropriate feedback while evaluating your own performance.
- Provide for the health and safety of all participants including ensuring that all activity and playing areas are free of hazards and the materials and equipment are secured and put away when not in use.
- Educate on and enforce all park and recreation facility rules, regulations, and policies, maintaining a consistent discipline policy for all activity participants and their parents/guardians.
- Complete any necessary records and reports.
- Communicate with Program Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What is needed to apply for this job?
- Job seekers should be age 18 or older
- Current CPR-AED/First Aid certifications or will to be certified
- Ability to lift/move 50 pounds
- Ability to complete tasks without supervision
- Leadership, decision-making, and public relations skills

- Participated in activities, sports, clubs, or other groups
- Have previous experience working with or running pickleball activities in an educational setting
- Availability to work a variety of hours, including daytime, evenings, and weekends

Located in central Minnesota, Whitney Recreation Center & Sports Complex serves as the recreation hub for the St. Cloud area. St. Cloud Park & Recreation offers activities for all ages at Whitney, from basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and a walking track and fitness room indoors, to baseball, softball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and special events outdoors. Whitney Recreation Center & Sports Complex employs an average of 5 full-time supervisory year-round employees, 20 part-time year-round employees, and 40 part-time seasonal employees.
