MEP firm seeks an individual with 5 years minimum experience in designing commercial, and industrial plumbing and piping systems and/or HVAC systems including pharmaceutical, healthcare, water and hi-tech facilities. Applicant must have experience designing and drafting commercial fit-out projects, must be proficient in designing hot and cold water distribution systems, sanitary and storm water systems, fuel conveying systems, medical gas conveying systems, and fire protection systems. Applicant must have experience performing field survey work in support of preparing detailed design and as-built drawings, and must have a strong understanding of NFPA, IBC and NYC codes. Applicant should have knowledge of various piping system calculations, application and specification such as: air and water pressure drop calculations, cold and hot water supply requirements, hot water storage, drainage fixture units, and storm water capacities. Applicant must be proficient in plumbing/mechanical system design with a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, and should have the ability to draft electrical trade markups.
