Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable, and relay orders efficiently to the kitchen staff
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, upsell specials and beverages to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns promptly, and foster positive guest relations
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing and resetting for new guests while maintaining cleanliness standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems, manage cash handling responsibilities, and balance registers at shift end
Requirements
- Proven experience as a server in food service establishments, preferably with fine dining or nightclub backgrounds
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable; experience with food industry software is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail
- Culinary experience or kitchen exposure is a plus for understanding food preparation and presentation standards
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and order calculations
- Previous host/hostess or serving experience is beneficial; familiarity with upselling techniques enhances sales potential
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed in a fast-paced environment
