Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as an Extrusion Clerk, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plastics extrusion processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting quality production and materials handling. As an Extrusion Clerk, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining efficient workflow, inspecting materials, and supporting fabrication activities to meet high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate extrusion machinery, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to production schedules
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment, ensuring proper storage and movement of raw materials and finished products
- Assist with fabrication tasks including press brake machine operations, CNC machining, and plastics blow molding processes
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment like CNC lathes, CNC machines, and press brake machines to prevent downtime
- Support assembly activities by preparing components with hand tools and ensuring proper fit and finish
- Maintain accurate records of production data, quality inspections, and materials handling activities in compliance with lean manufacturing principles
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with familiarity in plastics extrusion or injection molding processes
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CNC equipment
- Ability to use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments effectively
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts safely in a warehouse setting
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks
- Knowledge of materials handling procedures and fabrication techniques within a manufacturing context
- Experience with lean manufacturing practices to promote efficiency and waste reduction
- Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not mandatory; a proactive attitude toward safety and quality is essential
