Position Summary
Honō Japanese BBQ is seeking energetic, reliable, and hospitality-focused Busser/Food Runners to join our team. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by assisting servers, delivering food accurately and efficiently, maintaining dining room cleanliness, and ensuring tables are properly reset for incoming guests.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, works well as part of a team, and takes pride in providing outstanding service and attention to detail.
ResponsibilitiesFood Running
- Deliver food and beverages to guests quickly and accurately.
- Verify food matches table numbers and guest orders before delivery.
- Communicate with kitchen and service staff regarding order status.
- Describe menu items when delivering food when necessary.
- Assist with large parties and high-volume service periods.
Bussing & Dining Room Support
- Clear and reset tables promptly and efficiently.
- Refill water and assist guests with basic requests.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining room, service stations, and guest areas.
- Polish silverware, glassware, and other service items.
- Restock service stations with necessary supplies throughout the shift.
- Assist with opening and closing side work duties.
Guest Service
- Provide friendly and professional interactions with guests.
- Anticipate guest needs and communicate requests to servers or management.
- Support overall service flow to ensure a smooth dining experience.
- Maintain a positive attitude and team-first mentality.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain organized during busy service periods.
- Ability to lift and carry trays, bus tubs, and supplies up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
