Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe physician-patient interactions in real-time using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring comprehensive and precise medical documentation.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and managing medical supplies.
- Maintain patient records by updating medical histories, documenting procedures, and ensuring all information aligns with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliance standards.
- Support physicians during patient visits by managing appointment schedules, preparing examination rooms, and facilitating smooth patient flow.
- Ensure strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records and personal health information.
- Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to accurately document complex clinical details.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the medical office through excellent typing skills, medical transcription, and effective communication with patients and staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or as a Medical Scribe with strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems.
- Excellent transcription skills combined with a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Prior experience in emergency room environments or fast-paced clinics is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve HIPAA compliance through meticulous handling of confidential information.
- Strong typing skills with high accuracy; familiarity with electronic health record management tools is essential.
- Exceptional writing skills for clear and detailed medical documentation.
- Ability to interact professionally with patients while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times.
