Southern Yacht Club is seeking a skilled and passionate Experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Duties

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards

Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in compliance with safety regulations

Execute meal preparation efficiently during service hours, ensuring timely delivery of dishes

Support kitchen operations by organizing ingredients, utensils, and equipment for smooth workflow

Collaborate with chef to ensure high standards of food quality and presentation

Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and kitchen areas throughout shifts

Adhere to all food safety guidelines and health regulations at all times
Qualifications

Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or food service environment

Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, and cooking methods

Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper handling procedures

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure

Line Cooks at Southern Yacht Club need to be physically prepared to stay on their feet for multiple hours in the day.

The Southern Yacht Club is the second oldest yacht club in the U.S. (1849). With over 1600 members, SYC serves members in the 1849 Bar Tuesday - Sunday, a la carte lunch & dinner in main dining Wednesday - Saturday, and a brunch on Sunday. During the summer months a Tiki Bar & Grill serve members at the pool Tuesday - Sunday. SYC also hosts member holiday functions and banquets of various types & sizes from small dinners and parties to wedding receptions for 500.
