Our highly regarded orthodontic and pediatric dental practice is looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic, self-motivated, dental assistant to join our team. Our ideal candidate has strong customer service, communication, and marketing skills. We focus on excellent communication with our patients, parents, team members, doctors, allied health professionals, and service providers. This position is for Full and Part time.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary dental instruments, materials, and equipment for orthodontic procedures
- Assist orthodontists during patient appointments by providing chairside support, including handling dental instruments and materials
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices
- Ensure all dental sterilization procedures are followed meticulously to prevent infection and maintain aseptic techniques
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow in collaboration with the dental receptionist team
- Adhere to clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and medical coding
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures related to orthodontics, general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry
- Assist with infection prevention management by following strict sterilization protocols for dental instruments and equipment
Skills
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Provide direct patient care with the doctor
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks i.e., coronal polishing
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Accurately enter patient information in dental software
Well-organized with attention to detail
Expose radiographs and intra-oral photographs
Provide patient instructions and education following all dental treatment procedures

- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and orthodontics
- Skilled in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques
- Experience working within a busy dental clinic environment with a focus on general dentistry or specialized fields like orthodontics or prosthodontics is preferred

Pay: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour
