Position Summary
The Laundry Aide is responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing resident clothing, linens, and facility laundry. The ideal candidate will be organized, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collect soiled linens and resident clothing from designated areas.
Sort laundry according to fabric type, color, and washing requirements.
Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
Fold, organize, and distribute clean linens and resident clothing.
Label and track resident personal clothing as needed.
Maintain laundry rooms in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Follow infection control, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
Monitor laundry supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
Report damaged equipment or safety concerns promptly.
Assist with housekeeping duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous laundry, housekeeping, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Dependable attendance and punctuality.
