Duties
- Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, and cognitive disabilities.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence.
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each client’s needs, using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Support clients during community outings or appointments using personal transportation assistance and safe driving practices.
- Collect data on client progress, behavior patterns, and service outcomes to inform care plans and reporting requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to coordinate care plans and update on progress or concerns.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities in home or community settings.
- Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely for personal transportation assistance.
- Background in caregiving or home & community care environments supporting clients with cognitive disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR to ensure safety during all activities.
- Experience in data collection and documenting client progress accurately.
